Blossoms Blown On Winds Of Fury

A japanese legend inspired piece. Hannya masks are the visages of once beautiful women who have been turned into monsters by their jelousy and hate for some one they love. The Hannya mask is said to be dangerous and Erotic but also sorrowful and tormented displaying the complexity of human emotions. The cherry blossom petal is also a symbol of love and when falling or blown on the wind a symbol of new beginings and hope. This painting is an emotional response to some of the less joyous of my own relationships and the realistation that there is alwasys hope.

The piece is done in acrylic on canvas and is a meter by a meter in dimension.

In Remembrance Of Bruce

"In Remembrance Of Bruce" is a copper and marble sculpture using the popular symbol of the "Bat Signal" as a sort of conceptual grave marker. I wanted to play with the concept of the marker being for a deceased Batman but since his identity is unknown how would the marker been made.

I used marble for the base since this is a very traditional material for headstones. and cooper for the structure of the "Bat Symbol" with the inscription 'Heroes Never die' it gives the symbol a sense of hope.
